NNormal Presents the Tomir 02 GORE-TEX®: protection and performance for the most demanding terrains

November 2025 — A year and a half after launching the Tomir 02, NNormal’s most versatile shoe, the sports equipment brand founded by Kilian Jornet and Camper in 2022 unveils a new version of this model: the Tomir 02 GORE-TEX®.
Designed to deliver exceptional performance on technical terrain and in unpredictable conditions, this new version incorporates the GORE-TEX® waterproof membrane, ensuring complete waterproofing and breathability without compromising comfort or durability.
Inspired by the mountains and the people who explore them, the Tomir 02 GORE-TEX® combines the expertise of NNormal’s product team with the technology of leading brands such as GORE-TEX® and Vibram®, to offer a shoe ready for any adventure—no matter the weather.
The Tomir Family Evolves
True to NNormal’s philosophy of creating few, long-lasting collections, the Tomir range remains consistent and focused on what matters most. The Tomir 02 GORE-TEX® represents a natural evolution within this line: an alternative designed to deliver the same performance, comfort, and durability, with added protection against water and cold.
The original Tomir 02 will remain part of the brand’s catalog, with both models coexisting as complementary options tailored to different terrains and weather conditions.
Built to Endure
The Tomir 02 GORE-TEX® maintains the essence and geometry of the Tomir 02, while incorporating premium materials to enhance protection against moisture and cold.
Its GORE-TEX® Invisible Fit technology is directly integrated into the upper through a high-precision lamination process, creating a waterproof barrier without adding stiffness, weight, or bulk. This technology allows the shoe to retain the same fit, flexibility, and natural feel as the original version, ensuring exceptional comfort even over long distances.
The Vibram® Megagrip outsole, identical to that of the Tomir 02 and highly praised by users, retains its 5 mm lugs and combines Litebase and Traction Lug technologies to deliver superior grip and reliable traction on wet or uneven terrain.
With an 8 mm drop, a stack height of 25/33 mm, and a weight of 282 g (UK 7.5 / EU 41⅓), the Tomir 02 GORE-TEX® offers an optimal balance of cushioning, grip, and durability. Its EExpure™ midsole ensures more efficient strides and lasting comfort, even on the most demanding routes.
Launched in the Alps: Tested in Its Natural Habitat
The Tomir 02 GORE-TEX® was officially presented in the Alps during an event organized by NNormal and GORE-TEX® Brand , with the support of the Kilian Jornet Foundation. Among the attendees were five selected winners, NNormal athlete Lucille Germain, several advocates from France and Italy, and representatives from both brands.
Conditions were ideal for testing the shoe in its natural environment: rain, mud, fog, cold, and even snow showcased its ability to provide protection and performance on any terrain. The weekend also included a Running Minds session, organized by the Kilian Jornet Foundation and guided by renowned glaciologist Jean Baptiste Bosson—an experience that blended physical activity, knowledge, and reflection on the impacts of climate change in the mountains.
The event concluded with a roundtable discussion between experts from GORE-TEX® Brand, NNormal, and the KJF on sustainability and durability, reinforcing the collaboration between both brands and their shared commitment: to design products that inspire people to enjoy and protect nature—whatever the conditions.

The Tomir 02 GORE-TEX® is now available at www.nnormal.com and in selected retail stores, in two color combinations: grey/blue and beige/white, with a retail price of €190 in Europe and $200 in the U.S.
