NNormal publishes its first Commitment Report and shares the goals that will shape the brand’s future

The brand discloses the CO₂eq footprint of its collection and reinforces its commitment to product durability and repairability.

NNormal, the outdoor brand founded by Camper and Kilian Jornet in 2022, has published its first Commitment Report, a document that brings together the vision, commitments, and objectives guiding the company’s development.

More than a traditional sustainability report, the document has been created to openly explain how the brand understands its responsibility within the outdoor industry and the concrete actions it is taking to help build a different consumption model. The report outlines the key projects developed to date, as well as the goals NNormal has set for the coming years in areas such as durability, repair, recycling, transparency, and social impact.

The Commitment Report includes the carbon footprint of the majority of products across the collection. NNormal shares the carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂eq) of its footwear, apparel, and accessories to provide a more transparent view of its environmental impact. The calculation covers the entire product lifecycle, from raw material sourcing to manufacturing, transportation, and packaging.

Publishing this data is part of the brand’s transparency philosophy, built around the principle “Always Open. Always Honest.” The aim is to provide consumers and the industry with better information, helping drive more informed decisions and accelerate the transformation of the outdoor sector.

“We want to be transparent about our impact and the decisions we make as a brand. This Commitment Report is not about claiming perfection; it is about openly sharing what we are doing, what we have learned, and the goals we have set for ourselves as we continue moving forward,” says Sito Luis Salas, CEO of NNormal.

With this publication, NNormal takes another step forward in its commitment to a more transparent, responsible outdoor industry focused on extending product lifespans. The brand firmly believes that the best product for the planet is the one that is used for longer.

A Key Tool for Industry Transformation

Beyond measurement, NNormal sees transparency as a critical tool for transforming the outdoor industry. The purpose of this publication is not merely informative but structural: to accurately identify where impact is generated in order to reduce it at its source through improvements in design, materials, and logistics.

This approach forms part of a broader strategy focused on extending product life. NNormal believes that environmental impact can be significantly reduced when products are used for longer, repaired, or reintegrated into the production cycle. In this context, carbon footprint is understood as one metric within a wider system that includes repair programs, resoling services, and product take-back initiatives at the end of a product’s life.

The Pillars of NNormal

Durability

Guided by the philosophy “Replace Less. Do More.”, NNormal develops products designed to last longer and accompany athletes for more miles and adventures. The brand considers extending product lifespan to be one of the most effective ways to reduce environmental impact.

Repair and Resoling

Through repair and resoling programs developed in partnership with Vibram, NNormal works to ensure its products can continue to be used for longer. Repairability is integrated into both product design and the brand’s broader vision of responsible consumption.

Take Back Box

Through its Take Back Program, NNormal collects products at the end of their life cycle to explore new opportunities for recycling, reuse, and material recovery.

Beyond the Product

The Commitment Report also highlights initiatives developed alongside the Kilian Jornet Foundation and 1% for the Planet, as well as the work being carried out to further improve the company’s standards of transparency, social impact, and environmental responsibility.

The Commitment Report outlines both the progress achieved to date and the objectives that will guide the company’s development in the years ahead, reinforcing NNormal’s commitment to a more transparent and responsible outdoor industry built around products designed to last.
